This is an original etching by the renowned 20th C. Argentine sketch artist and painter, Lola de Lusarreta (b. 1901 - d. 1982) . It is titled "El Transparente": Catedral de Toledo, numbered 6 of 10, and signed and dated by the artist in 1948. According to her, it took seven months to complete a series of etchings while she was living and studying in Spain and France after World War II. This one belonged to my grandfather who lived in a remote mountain village in Cordoba, Argentina, and while the wood frame is original, the matte board border and non-glare glass have recently been replaced, as well as the paper on the back and the hanging hardware. The etching image measures 11.5" W x 15.5" H on paper that measures 12" x 16".
