Chairish

An excellent gold-leafed offset lithograph, print, of "Gazelle Hunt By Night" after 17th century Indian painting. Comes from a first limited and only edition art folio published by Les Editions du Chene in Paris, France in 1950. Printed on one side. Hand tipped-in on a board of heavy paper. Numbered "VI" at the lower right corner of the insert. Gold-leafed and very detailed. Superb quality, rich colors. Excellent condition - minor age wear on edges of the board, never framed. Image 9.75"W x 13.45"H - a little bit smaller than the original artwork. The original 17th century Indian "Gazelle Hunt By Night" painting is 10.79"W x 15.67"H, Collection J. Pozzi. Formerly belonged to the Collection Fernand Prevost, French Minister in Persia. A similar painting, doubtless by the same artist, is to be found in the Bodleian Library, Oxford.
