Chairish

$124

A lovely original period full-color print after oil painting La Coiffure (The Hairstyle, painted about 1905) by Pablo Picasso from first and limited edition of Picasso's portfolio, created while the great artist was still living, published in the mid of 20th c. Signed in the print: "Picasso". The title, size, and other information on the original painting will be found by lifting the lithograph. Printed on 1 side. Pablo Picasso himself picked pieces for this First American Edition folio after his art. Excellent condition - never framed. Overall 11"W x 14.75"H Image 5.75" x 10.25"H La Coiffure is among the first paintings to state the problems which will preoccupy Picasso during the year 1906. He emphasizes the weight and form of the three figures but pays little attention to individual characterization. The composition is traditional in its structure and, in contrast to the Boy with a Pipe or Woman with a Fan (you can find these beautiful lithographs from 1954 at our Print Shop on Chairish, the modeling seems severe.
