Georgette Nivert was a French painter born circa 1900, actively painting in France in the first half of the 20th century. She devoted herself to figural painting, with a lifetime interest in the female figure standing, sitting, lying, and bathing, and also cancan dance scenes from Parisian cabarets. She studied at the Beaux Arts in Paris, then traveled to Spain, Greece and Holland to study with several great masters. She exhibited at important salons and Paris Galleries, and painted portraits of such notables as S.M. Soraya, Ex-Empress of Iran and Sir Anthony Eden. Her paintings are found in many important private collections, and the City of Paris owns several.
