1950s Mid-Century French Cabaret Fashion Design Drawing, Gouache, Matted With Documentation

Chairish

$361

This is a DRAMA! It is a matted original gouache costume fashion design drawing that dates to the 1950s. Purchased by us in Paris from a collector known for her original fashion drawing collections. It is a work by a Bordeaux couturier, Jean-Pierre Chansard. Note his signature in lower left and note the documentation showing his official professional letterhead dating to the 1950s. The drawing features a cabaret dance performer in her costume. The work is done in blue, white an black gouache on thick green colored stock. Take a minute to study the details of her costume with the exquisite elaborate draped trailing costume and feathered headwear! Note the white design work on her costume and also on the underneath side as well. The trimmed faux fur is quite luxurious and her out stretched black gloved hands and fishnet stocking add to the drama of this performer. She makes her grand entrance stepping down the stairs in her spectacular shoes! This is a sexy, elegant and fun fashion illustration! Pristine condition. It deserves a special spot in your home décor as it will draw attention. This image is large for a fashion drawing, measuring 11.25 x 14 inches in size. The image comes matted in a white 16 x 20 inch custom mat that works in a standard size frame. (See companion cabaret design drawings offered in our shop.)
