Inscribed Tuillieres, unsigned, drawn in Paris and from a sketchbook of a 1957 European trip by Charles Merrill Mount (1928-1995). Mount worked in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Europe. He produced portraits and landscapes in watercolor and charcoal and authored several books: John Singer Sargent (1955), Gilbert Stuart (1964), and Claude Monet (1966).
