A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road". Twenty-fourth station: Kanaya. In the title block: "The distant bank of the Oi River". Between the hills one can see the roofs of the station. The head of the procession and the halberdiers have passed the que, but the heavy palanquin of the lord, carried by many bearers in the water up to the shoulders, approaches the white sand. This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed. Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XXV. Excellent condition - minor edge wear, never pinned, never framed.
