A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road". Twenty-Eighth Station: Mitsuke. In the title block: "The Tenryu River". In the foreground, two boatmen with bamboo poles await passengers. On the other side of the sandbank, ferries leave the shore. A group of travelers are holding a secret meeting. This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed. Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XXIX. Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed, never framed.
