A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road". Fifty-Third station: Otsu. In the title block: "The Tea House of the Spring". On the left, we see the spring water gushing abundantly. Two travelers and a traveler's wife are resting inside the pavilion. Two maids are sitting behind the front. On the right, two peasants are transporting sacks of charcoal on three carts pulled by oxen towards Kyoto. This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed. Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: LIV. Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed and are barely visible, never framed.
