Diller was an American abstract and constructivist painter known for geometric forms. Diller's work is represented in numerous museum collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Hyde Collection (Glens Falls, NY), the National Gallery of Art, and theWhitney Museum of American Art. He was considered by many to be a pioneer of American modernism. He was influenced by Alberts, Kandinsky, Hans Hoffman, and Piet Mondrian. He was a founding member of the American Abstract Artists.
