Genevieve “Gen” Ashenberner’s oil on canvas titled Requiem portrays a solitary tree casting a long shadow across a Pacific Northwest landscape.  Measuring 30 × 24 inches (76 × 61 cm) and likely painted in the 1960s–80s, the piece is signed on the front and labelled on the verso.  It retains its original wood frame; there is light craquelure but no loss of paint.
