1962 Original French Figure Drawing An intriguing depiction of three figures. The poses and expressions convey so much emotion, and yet remain ambiguous. The figures appear to be drawn with a mix of ink and watercolor, but I'm not certain on the exact mediums used. The aged coloring of the paper is complemented by the warmth of the frame that has some natural notches in the wood, giving it a hand-crafted feel. Came from a French estate, not signed as the piece likely came from a sketchbook, but dated 1962 (only seen behind the backing). There is some minor wrinkling to the paper, and some foxing throughout that isn’t very noticeable.
