Drawing of an interior by Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997) in France in 1966. Inscribed "Limoges" lower left and signed, dated and inscribed "Poitiers." Its drawn on a section of a menu from the ocean liner 'SS Ryndam' from October 12, 1965. Yaeger was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1904 and is credited with being one of the first American modernists. He painted numerous commissioned murals for the Works Progress Administration and in 1932, he won the Founder's Society Purchase Prize from the Detroit Institute of Arts. His work experienced a renaissance in the 1980s and he numerous commissions for public works.
