As part of Marimekko's ongoing efforts to promote the brand worldwide, this piece is from a line of posters sent to distributors, press, and agents to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Marimekko in 1976 that focused on designers and makers at the company. Because they weren't available to the public, they are exceptionally rare and mostly exist in museums and in prominent collections. This poster highlights designer Liisa Suvanto (1910-1983) and her artistic contributions to Marimekko. Suvanto worked at Marimekko from 1960-1975 and, especially in the 1970s, also designed clothes in printed cotton fabrics. In good condition with light wear consistent with age.
