1970s Craggy Mountains At Night, A Pair Of Abstract Paintings Signed Byharry Jelinek (1905–1986)
Chairish$1,000
These two paintings in the Abstract Expressionist style depict what appears to be craggy mountains with glacial flows seen just before dawn in the blue version or in the deepest moonlit night in the black version. They are executed in acrylic paint on board, with bold strokes that reflect the volume of rock and mystery of the far reaches. The application of paint appears rapid and confident, characteristic of Expressionism abstractly executed. These are original artworks by Harry Jelinek (1905-1986), who was born in the Czechloslovakia and worked in Italy. The blue mountain painting is signed "Jelinek '72" on the bottom left corner and the black mountain painting is signed "Jelinek '70" on the bottom right corner. The paintings are framed very simply and ready to hang. They measure 21 3/4 inches wide by 27 1/4 inches high. We are offering them as a pair; please contact us if interested in an individual sale.
