This is a reproduction print of Franklin Carmichael’s painting of Lake Wabagishik titled, "Summer Storm,” originally painted in 1928. Carmichael (1890 - 1945) was among a group of famous Canadian landscape painters known as The Group of Seven or the Algonquin School that was founded in 1920 and gained notoriety through their Art Nouveau/Post-Impressionist paintings and drawings. The print is professionally framed under glass in a 25” long x 22” high x 1.75” deep -gilded design with a distressed gold and silver finish wooden frame. The prominent wide outer frame is adorned with a raised, beaded design that has a distressed appearance with orange highlights. The innermost section is a light-colored fabric-wrapped wood trim that provides a neutral border between the painting and the detailed frame elements.
