Date: 1970s Size: 20 x 27 inches Artist: Valerio Adami About the Artist: Valerio Adami (1935-) is an Italian painter often associated with the Pop Art movement. He began studying painting at the age of 10 under the Italian artist Felice Carena and went on to attend the Brera Fine Arts Academy in Milan. His work touches on European history, politics, mythology and literature, featuring highly stylised subjects and large surfaces of colour bordered by dark lines. In 1975, philosopher Jacques Derrida used his work in his notable essay "+R: Into the Bargain" to discuss "narration, technical reproduction, ideology, the phoneme, the biographeme, and politics." The poster has some minor ruffling at the edges, but is in otherwise very good condition. Ready to frame.
