José Antonio Velásquez (1906–1983) was a self-taught Honduran painter. His work can be seen at the Art Museum of the Americas in Washington, D.C. Known as a "Primitivist" painter who depicted Honduran landscapes and street scenes. This work is a stylized painting done by the artist in the early 1970s and it comes from the estate of a local art collector who had a love for travel and folk art. Measures 22 x 18.25 inches in the frame. In very good vintage condition.
