This original painting done in 1972 is part of a conceptual series of works on paper done by the artist that playfully explore narrative storytelling through text and surrealist imagery. Featuring an interior scene with a translucent unraveling, mummified man stumbling through a light filled room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a green landscape. Nicely framed. Artist Bio: Lawrence Preece is a conceptual British artist (B. 1942) and teacher, born in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Preece studied Ceramics and Lithography at Brighton School of Art from 1958-63. Often creating surreal landscapes that interweave architecture and the human figure. His works gained international recognition with many public and private collections including The British Museum, Birmingham City Art Gallery, De Beers collection, Steelcase Design Partnership, N.Y, Henry Gallery, Seattle and York City Art Gallery.
