Maranz began his career in art as a hobby, having already made a name for himself in the field of engineering. Maranz invented the continuous soft ice cream freezer in 1949, and founded the Tastee-Freez corporation. Maranzs abstract designs on plexiglass, polysyrene, and handmade papers gained him international attention as a visionary of ultra modern art.
