About The Artist Joanne Gross — American Painter (1935–1996) Born in Los Angeles in 1935, Joanne Gross studied at UCLA, the Fleisher Institute, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She specialized in abstract, geometric forms, exploring the representation of space and motion through her compositions. Gross frequently exhibited in the Philadelphia area and received awards from institutions such as the Delaware State Arts Council, the Woodmere Art Museum, and the Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts (now the Delaware Contemporary). Her works are part of both corporate and private collections, including the Delaware Art Museum and Pennsylvania State University’s campus in Media.
