1971 After Pablo Picasso, "The Tragedy" Period Parisian Full-Color Print

Chairish

$175

An excellent period full-color print after Post-Impressionist painting "The Tragedy" (Les Pauvres au Bord de la Mer, 1903) by Pablo Picasso. Comes from the artist's portfolio published by New French Editions in France, in 1971. The original painting was painted during Picasso's Blue epoch. It showed another picture beneath: a horse and a bullfighting ring. Further discovery showed a drawing of a horse strutting, a little figure, and legs. Thus Pablo used the panel more than four times. Printed on one side. Hand tipped-in on a board of heavy paper. Copy by Georges Boudaille on back of the board. Excellent condition - minor edge wear on the board, never framed. Overall 9.50"W x 12.80"H Image 6.30"W x 9.95"H
