Beautiful lithograph of Hibiscus flowers by Elizabeth Osborne. The colors are vibrant. It is number 27 out of a very limited edition of only 80. It is matted with a backing board but not framed. The packed dimension will be approximately 40 inches x 28 inches. Elizabeth Osborne (born 1936) is an American painter and teacher, who lives in Philadelphia. Working primarily in oil paint and watercolor, her paintings are known to bridge ideas about formalist concerns, particularly luminosity, with her explorations of nature, atmosphere and vistas. Beginning with figurative paintings in the 1960s and '70s, she moved on to bold, color drenched, landscapes and eventually abstractions that explore color spectrums. Osborne studied at Friends Central School, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), and the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation Osborne was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and traveled to Paris to study art for a year. Osborne’s work is represented in several notable private and public collections, including the Delaware Art Museum, Wilmington, Delaware; the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, Minnesota; the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and the James A. Michener Museum of Art, Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
