1973 Original Signed Steve LeBailly Mixed Media – "Notre-Dame de Paris" A stunning 1973 original architectural study of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris by Seattle-based artist Stephen "Steve" B. LeBailly (1947–2024). This early-career work masterfully combines the soft transparency of watercolor with the sharp, textured precision of wax-based colored pencil to capture the intricate Gothic facade. The piece is housed in its original, exceptionally deep (2.5") ornate gilt wood frame, featuring a high-end cream linen-textured mat and a beaded gold-tone fillet. This work is a "statement piece" that bridges the gap between fine art and high-end decorative furniture. Dimensions: Frame: 21" W x 25" H x 2.5" D Art (Sight): 12" W x 16" H Provenance: Acquired from a private collection. Signed and dated "Steve LeBailly Paris '73," this piece represents the artist’s early European explorations, a theme that defined much of his later acclaimed work. Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition. The artwork retains its original vibrant blue and green pigments. The paper exhibits age-appropriate "mat burn" (a dark line) at the very edges where it meets the frame, consistent with its 50+ year history. The central image is clean and remarkably free of foxing. The ornate gilt frame is structurally sound with a well-preserved aged patina; the reverse features original hanging wire and is ready for immediate display. With its significant 2.5-inch depth and classic Parisian subject matter, this signed original is an elegant addition to a sophisticated library, office, or traditional gallery wall.
