A 1974 aquatint print by the American artist Robert C. Ray (1926-2020). TitledHodaka, this abstract work depicts a reclining nude figure amidst brushes of blue and brown color. Signed and dated to the lower right and titled to the lower left, the print is displayed in a black frame and a white mat. Born in Elwood, Indiana, Ray attended the John Herron Art School in Indianapolis. After spending time abroad in Spain and Italy in 1953, he studied under Hans Hoffman in Provincetown, Massachusetts at Hoffman's School of Fine Art. Ray was also a writer and poet with several published books. In addition to being an artist, Ray also ran an interior decorating business in Indianapolis.
