Hailing from a small edition of 50, this sophisticated lithograph on paper was realized by an unheralded Mid Century Modern printmaker in 1977. Entitled "Nuage Blanc" (White Cloud), the piece offers an abstract landscape featuring a vibrant blue sky with an amorphic abstract form in the center (representing a cloud). A sinuously curved banded form suggesting a road occupies the foreground of the composition bookended on each side by black forms (one solid, and the other striated). Colorful beads, suggesting gemstones in hues of acquamarine and ruby reside in the nebulous black form to the right of the banded road. Highly detailed and textural forms, suggesting abstracted foliage occupy the middle of the composition providing a dynamic contrast to the more solid formations found elsewhere in the piece. With its sophisticated palate and composition, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is signed by the artist lower right and dated "77. It is also numbered 24/50. The piece comes presented in a custom gallery frame and is in excellent vintage condition.
