Harry Buckley, originally from Arkansas, discovered his love for art at an early age and continued to peruse his passion throughout his lifetime. Buckley received his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and his doctoral in art history from the University of Iowa after serving in the military. While his passion always remained with creating art, Buckley taught at several schools including Temple University and Carlton College. Although Buckley considered Philadelphia his home for many decades, he loved to travel and was inspired by the sights he saw. Traveling to Europe allowed Buckley to draw inspiration from the diverse vistas he encountered, which he later depicted in many of his works. Buckley's art encompasses a variety of mediums, sizes and subjects and are included in over 700 private collections throughout the United States and Europe. Buckley lived in Philadelphia until his death in March of 2010.
