"Rires et Sourires" (Smiles and Laughter) by artist Guillaume Azoulay (Morocco, 1949- ). Pencil-signed and numbered etching, printed in sepia ink. Number 47 in a limited edition of 120. Professionally matted and framed. Framed size 29"w x 27"h; printed area (exclusive of signature area) is 15"w x 13"h. Guillaume Azoulay was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1949. Azoulay settled in Israel in 1967, and ultimately in California in 1976. He is a self-taught artist with a distinctive and recognizable style. One of his most notable accomplishments is that Azoulay is the youngest artist to be accepted in the permanent archives of the Musee du Louvre, in Paris, with two pieces accepted in 1978. His works are found in the collections of former President Ronald Reagan, Francois Mitterand, the late Anwar Sadat, King Hassan II of Morocco, Prince Rainier and Prince Karim Aga Khan.
