Vibrant abstract monoprint by Karen Pugay (American, b. 1960). Highly saturated, almost day-glow colors are layered to create deep, richly colored shapes. The abstract shapes hint at figures, buildings, birds, and other objects, but are not well defined, creating a dreamlike mood. Signed, dated, and stamped with artist's chop in lower right corner. Titled in left corner Paper size: 29.75" x 22.25"W Presented in a new buff mat with foamcore backing. Karen Pugay (American, b. 1960) earned her Master's in Printmaking from San Francisco State University in 1986. She exhibited during the 1980s her Mono prints in San Francisco at the Lawson Gallery.
