I love the feeling of this painting and the way she captured light shimmering off the trees, and how the colors feel light and airy. M. Zena Lesser ( 1926-2022 ) was a Cape Cod artist and painter who loved to experiment with different styles and techniques while painting her bright and colorful landscapes on the Cape. Some of her paintings depict a realistic and representational style capturing sunsets on the marsh, cottages on the dunes, or the rooftops of Provincetown. She was skilled in two main painting styles; abstract Impressionism and natural realism. With both techniques she captured beautiful light and color, rich shadow, and loose yet controlled brushwork. Some of her paintings combine the use of both palette knife and brush. She was an esteemed member of The Copley Society of Boston, and producing highly skilled works admired by her peers.
