This is an evocative oil painting on board of what appears to be a moody lily pond in semi-darkness. It was purchased from a gallery in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the 1990's. I have not found a signature. The colors are dark and primarily green and yellow. The coloring and lightness/darkness change from morning to evening. It was framed in Evanston, Illinois in 1999 with a rich walnut wood artist frame that floats about a quarter inch outside the painting and is 3" deep. The size of the piece overall is 27" x 27" (painting itself is 25.25 x25.25) and it is quite heavy. It evokes a moody, impressionistic, quiet feeling, and has been used in several different styles of interiors over the years. The right wall and lighting always enhance this painting's chameleon ability to blend in with your style.
