Painted circa 1990, the artist takes us on nocturnal safari through the wilds of Africa. Executed in the surrealist mode, the animals appear transparent, almost if they are ghosts of their former selves. This exploration of the surrealist school uses blues and greens (a departure from the artist's characteristic palette) to best represent the cool and calm of grazing nights under African skies. Literally dreaming of safari, the composition actually presented to George in a dream, the result of which is the image we present. This is a large painting, unframed at 36" x 48." It is a "quiet" painting. It gives off an aura of calm and serenity.
