A 19th century French or English cast bronze mount of a Roman God, possibly Bacchus, surrounded by a swag motif, oak leaves and acorns, highly-detailed with traces of verdigris in the crevices. Probably once mounted on a monumental piece of furniture, it is now mounted on a mahogany plaque and resting in a 19th century walnut shadow box frame. The frame has some scratches and minor dings consistent with its age. The actual casting measures 9 1/2" x 7". A captivating piece of antique metal work, ready to hang.
