We are selling this fabulous American miniature portrait painting. This painting of a young gentleman is very well done. The facial features are of the highest quality including dry stipling in the hair. It is possible the miniature was cut down and housed in this later Union Gutta Percha case based on the off-centered mass of the portrait. The picture is well mounted and we did not remove it from the frame. Painting is probably circa 1840 and the case later. From a local Troy New York Estate. Condition: Good condition.
