This is an original work by Judith Moore, American, 1942-2010. Judith drew inspiration from flowers wherever she happened to be. She would photograph them at parks and botanical gardens when she traveled, and closer to her Illinois home, she would often visit the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, including the tropical gardens housed in the R. Buckminster Fuller Climatron. Like many of her floral paintings, the composition of this oversized work is like a "portrait" of the blooms, inviting the viewer to hone in and marvel at the details and forms of nature as an abstract composition. This work is a gallery-wrapped canvas, with the painting extending around the edges. No frame is necessary.
