18th century Scottish school Portrait of a Lady. A formal portrait set in an oval window and holding fresh flowers in her hand and a small bouquet in her hair. Dark green satin dress with white lace fringe. Proper portrait of an upper-class young lady. The measurements are 29" wide by 34.5" framed, the canvas is 24" by 29". The gilt plaater frame is in good condition with a few scattered chips to the gesso. No signature is found on it. Possibly an Allan Ramsey work (1713-1784, England), a very successful portrait painter and writer of classical art. Placing this portrait circa 1750-60.
