An original watercolor painting on paper by Agnes J. Rudd, British landscape painter, exhibited from 1888 to 1938, "A Sunny Corner, Bruges (Belgium)", scene of a women sitting in a window reading directly above a swan floating in the canal, a large building to the right, additional buildings to the back ground, 8 7/8" x 12 3/8", signed A. Rudd in the bottom right corner front, inscribed on the original matting "A Sunny Corner, Bruges". CA number 3936, CA purchased from a southwest of England auction house winter 2024. Although undated this work was probably painting during the first quarter of the 20th century. The watercolor has been cleaned, re-matted with an Antique White Museum mat, gold line applied, Conservation Clear Glass, museum backing and original frame (1" Whistler style wooden frame and gold leaf liner). Agnes Rudd lived in Bournemouth, exhibited 1888-1938 at numerous art galleries - the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham; the Dudley Gallery; the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; the Royal Academy; the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours. Unspecified galleries locations were all in London.
