Signed to the lower right, the batik depicts an array of brushwork-style shapes surrounded by shades of yellow, red, brown, green, white and blue. The batik is displayed in a black frame. Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
