California self taught artist (American b. 1969) Christopher (Cyrstofer) Shoemaker painted this incredible bold abstract work of art titled “Geeh” in 2025. He used acrylic paint, wire mesh and other materials on a stretched canvas. Measuring 48”’high X 36”’wide and 1” deep. He was impressed with the late and well known artist Purvis Young who is an outsider artist who paints on found materials, plus being completely self taught. Shoemaker follows that same theme, just like the fact the this Bead-Board he painted it on is found material, typical for outsider artists. Shoemaker’s art is widely collected.
