I love the shapes in this painting and how she captured the lights and darks to give the bottles dimension. I also like the color palette, and how well the colors compliment each other. M. Zena Lesser ( 1926-2022 ) was a Cape Cod artist and painter who loved to experiment with different styles and techniques. She was skilled in two main painting styles; abstract color studies and natural realism. With both techniques she captured beautiful light and color, rich shadows, and loose yet controlled brushwork. Some of her paintings combine the use of both palette knife and brush. She studied with Morris Davidson, Hand hoffman, and Henry Hensche, among others. In 1985, she was accepted as a member of The Copley Society of Boston, and producing highly skilled works admired by her peers.
