Artist Irma Cerese is fascinated with color relationships and manipulating paint on the surface. Her paintings can be seen as a landscape or an abstract color study. Educated at the Art Institute of Chicago, her work has been featured extensively in solo shows across New England and contain a strong structure of ground and sky, and a connection to the earth. She has a skillful way of abstracting shapes and edges into solidly anchored art. This painting captures a feeling of dusk on Cape Cod as a child when I didn't want the day to end. I really love this one.
