New Orleans born Ted Ellis is an American artist known for African-American art with folk art themes and elements. He blends naturalism and impressionism in this scene of Southern African American church culture, and fellowship. Ted left a career in environmental chemistry to pursue capturing the depth of African American history and culture with art. Ted Ellis painted Obama, the 44th President, a work that was presented at the inauguration in 2009.
