The Spanish with castanets is an original china ink drawing realized by Adolphe Léon Willette, a French illustrator, painter, caricaturist, lithographer, and architect. The state of preservation is very good. Hand-signed, on the lower right. The artist Adolphe Léon Willette, with his irreverent art, though elegant and floriated in the style, illustrated the spirit of the Bohemia of the crazy Montmartre in the turn of the 20th century. He realized, for instance, the interior decoration and the sign of the legendary Cabaret du Chat Noir, as well as the aspect of the famous Moulin Rouge. The drawing is beautiful in the strokes and in the movement, realized by an important artist, in the typical taste of Paris of the fin de siecle. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
