This Abbey was founded by St. John the Baptist. The frescoes were commissioned from Domenichino (Domenico Zampieri) by Cardinal Odoardo Farnese; the titular Abbot of this Abbey. This print originates from 'Picturae Dominici Zampierii, vulgo Domenichino, quae extant in sacello sacrae aedi cryptoferratensi adjuncto tabulis aeneis incisae' published 1762. Condition: Good, given age. Some staining in the margins near the edges. A few minor spots. Two tiny worm holes upper right margin, not affecting image. Some minor crinkles.
