A pair of framed hand colored lithographs by the well known 19th century English ornithological artist John Gould (1804-1881). This offering includes "Casarca Tadornoïdes" and Querquedula Crecca". Both are set in what appears to be original frames from the Borghese Gallery, perhaps from the 1920's. The frames are painted wood, with brass liners, and glass fronts. These prints have not been examined outside of the frame. They appear to antique, possibly from the 19th century. The frame dimensions are 25" x 18" x 1". The prints that have not been examined outside of the frame. Both prints as well as both frames show signs of age including darkening of the paper, spots to the paper, loss of tarnish to the brass portions of the frames, and general wear to the wood portions of the frames. There are waves to both prints as seen from the photo(s) taken from a side angle. Both glass fronts are in good condition. Please examine all photographs closely. Note: Color is best illustrated by the primary photo showing both prints.
