(image) Manessier extends the experience of Solesmes Abbey with light filtered through the stained glass, Gregorian chant seemingly suspended in the air. He turns it into an abstraction that vibrates from within. The composition, made up of colored rhythms and juxtaposed transparencies, does not represent: it evokes, it elevates, like lauds (the first prayers of the day). The work becomes a space of visual contemplation, where silence and light converse without words.
