Painting by alfredo billetto, figure. Italy, 1961 origin italy period 1961 author alfredo billetto (1932 – 2022) was a contemporary italian painter, an eclectic and independent figure of the late 20th century in piedmont. Born in turin, as a teenager he began working with ceramics in alberto nobili's workshop. He trained artistically under the guidance of masters such as felice casorati and cesare maggi, developing a personal language that ranged from the figurative to the abstract. His pictorial research evolved towards abstract forms, studies of shapes, still lifes, figures, and free compositions, characterized by an innovative use of color, matter, and form, with energetic and often textured brushstrokes. Influenced by extended stays in spain, holland, east africa, and france, he incorporated exotic, musical, and lyrical suggestions into his works, alternating between oils on canvas, tempera, and mixed media. Titles such as forme ribaltate (overturned forms), tiro a sogno (dream shot) and still lifes highlight a free, poetic and unconventional approach, defined by critics as that of a free artist. His work, independent and far from dominant trends, reflects a solitary but consistent path, with a strong link to the turin tradition (casorati, paulucci and others) reinterpreted in a modern and abstract key. technique mixed media on paper dimensions painting: 26 x 35 cm frame: 42 x 51 cm condition perfect.
