An original watercolor painting on paper by Frank Winston Shipsides, British artist 1908-2005, "An Artist's Dream", scene of multiple sailing boats moored in a harbor, buildings and a quay to the left, a large hill to the background, 10 1/2" x 14", titled "An Artist's Dream" at the bottom left corner front and "Frank Shipsides 1988" to the bottom right corner front. CA number 3965. CA purchased winter 2025 from a west of England auction house. The painting has had a light surface cleaning. The work has been rematted with White Museum matboard, lined, Conservation Clear Glass, museum backing and framed with 3/4" antiqued gold/silver lacquer Thanhardt-Burger moulding. Shipsides studied at the Mansfield College of Art and the Nottingham College of Art. He painted in oil colors and watercolors and worked as an artist and illustrator. He exhibited at the Alexander Gallery, Bristol and was a member of The Bristol Savages.
