Ancestor's Portrait (Left Panel), Contemporary Acrylic Painting By Stephen Remick, Framed

Occupying a space in the blurry line between abstraction and representation, individual identity and anonymity. Inspired by portraits of married couples from ages ago. This can be a diptych, paired with its mate found on my Chairish site titled Ancestors (Right Panel). Please consider purchasing the two together. Note that the surface is heavily textured. Spots that appear white are actually light reflecting off the textured paint. These show up more prominently in photos than in real life. This is framed with a painted thin wood strip, black on the sides, silver color on the front. It's wired and ready to hang. About the artist: Stephen Remick was born and raised in Vermont. He earned a BFA in Painting from Swain School of Design, a small art school in Massachusetts. He resides in a coastal New England town with his wife, Anne Carrozza Remick, who is also an artist on Chairish. Steve is currently (2025) president of a well-known and respected local artists' association. His paintings are in private collections all over the U.S. and abroad.
