André Chervet Auguste Chervet (1879-1946), originally from Switzerland (he was born in Sugiez Bas-Vully, canton of Fribourg) arrived in Nancy in 1894 to work for the building contractor Lefort. Having acquired French nationality in 1899, he joined the architectural firm of Ferdinand Genay the following year, then in 1909, became the head of the agency of his successor Pierre Le Bourgeois. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
